Jeremiah Newville
Thanks to Jamie and her cousin, in Viroqua, Wisconsin, for the pictures of the gravestone of Jeremiah Newville. It doesn't show well but the date of death is 15 Dec 1861 on the gravestone. Jamie advises there is another grave site next to the Jeremiah site, but there is no gravestone on it. Jamie's cousin found the gravestire on their property and Jamie took the info and went looking for relatives that might be interested in having the photo, that's when she found me. Thanks again Jamie!
From the “History of Vernon County, Wisconsin-1884” there is a biographical sketch under the ‘Town of Franklin” for Abram Newville owns a farm of 120 acres on section 14. He is the son of Jeremiah Newville, who was one of the pioneers of Franklin town. Mr. Newville was born near Albany, N.Y., in 1810, where he was reared. He married Rachel Lawson and removed to Michigan. He subsequently located in Illinois, and went from there to Vernon Co., Wis. He settled on the farm his son Abram now owns, where he lived till his death, which occurred about 1860. Abram was born in New York and came to Vernon county some years after his father. He Married Mrs. Jane (Davis) Pidcock, a native of Pennsylvania. They have one son, Jeremiah, who resides on a farm near his parents. Mrs. Newville had three children by her former husband – Hugh, Letitia and John C.
Jeremiah Newville (1800-1861) is the son of John Newville (1752 - 1826). Jeremiah's brother, John (1778 - 1852), is the father of Nancy Newville who married Soloman Deming.

The names in ( ) are from my notes in the family tree. Between 1830 and 1840, the female born in 1826 was lost. There are 2 female children I don't know about that would have been born between 1815 and 1825. Roswell isn't even mentioned although he would have been 2 yrs old in the 1830 census. I don't know who the male under 5 yoa would be in the 1840 census. I know Rachel is my great great grandmother, so Emily must not have been accounted for or was no longer living in 1840. Parley's father, Moses Warner died in 1840 in Venango, Erie PA so I am sure that this Parley is my family line. Moses Warner is also mentioned in the book, Revolutionary Patriots, Erie Co, PA on pages 90,118, & 148. I do not have the book, I just read it on Rootsweb.com that he was in there.
