The property closed on April 17, 2017. It is now in the hands of a new owner. It was in my family since 1969. Happy and sad day - a closed chapter in my life's book. (This picture is only half of the property).

I will miss the beauty of the area, the serenity that was usually predominate, the deer and other critters!

David and I went to the farm and got out as much as we could of the remaining stuff that I wanted to keep. We took a walk down to the "swamp barn" to see if we could retrieve any of the rocks that the family worked so hard in finding and bringing home from back in the days when Dad was rockhounding!
We did get some pretty samples and I brought those home.

The old barn, must be 50 yrs old by now. Falling apart. Bears had used it for a few years to hibernate! LOL In those trees, next to the barn is a deep gully. Can't see it any more!

The seasonal pond needs some serious cleaning out and the orchard is overgrown with blackberries.

That's all the "final" pics that I took. The rest of the place hasn't changed since the last pictures I took!

Time to get more stuff out of the house and sheds that I want to keep.
The wood burning stove was removed, but not by me. I did not keep it.

Tons of antique tools in the shed and some other stuff that I would have liked to keep that I bought. But, didn't get it all. Got the important stuff.

There was a beautiful huge fern by the shed that I always wanted to move to Portland, so it was time to do so. Turns out it was actually two ferns! LOL

I guess I haven't posted anything for quite awhile. The property is now for sale. I hope that whoever buys it can give it the love and care that it really needs.

I decided since it was so pretty out today, I would take a few pictures. I took some a week ago, but they pretty much look like these ones, so I'll only post one set! LOL

I was going to walk further, but after the walk on the uneven ground last week, I decided I didn't need any more sore muscles. LOL

Anyhow, when I arrived, the new neighbors across the street were doing a lot of burning. Not sure what all they were burning but they had two piles going.

The Daffodils I planted last year or the year before are starting to bloom. They are about 1/2 the size of the ones at the Portland House. And, Johnny Jump Ups have appeared in the front yard.

The orchard and the swamp trees should be "greening up" soon.

And just looking around the property close to the house:
